Oil & Water

October 28, 2010

Yes, that is oil from the coast of Louisiana. Yes, it was used to screen print this awesome poster. Yes, you can buy one right here, or you can just make a donation, but you probably want the poster, too!

This is a project by Happiness Brussels and ALL of the proceeds go to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.

October 26, 2010

Now that I’ve learned how to knit yarn has taken on a whole new meaning in my life. So many pretty colors, so many cool things to make. I’ve got a good feeling about this one.

Blowin’ Bubbles

October 12, 2010

I am absolutely loving this bubble photography by Richard Heeks. These are just a few of my favorites, but he’s got a whole flickr set dedicated to them. Each one is so different and unique and fascinating. I’m pretty sure I could look at these all day.

These sculptures are part of a series called The Travelers by Bruno Catalano. Each sculpture is missing a piece to it. I love the way these are done. The missing pieces seem to fit in the sculptures so well and are quite mesmerizing in their own way. I can’t stop wondering what each of these travelers left behind or is on the search for, and I like that the answer would be different for each person looking at them.

Money Tools

June 24, 2010

Stacey Lee Webber made these tools out of pre-1992 copper pennies. They are part of her Craftsman Series which features different tools made out of various forms of coins.

These apartments in Rio de Janeiro were given a makeover by the Favela Painting & the Let’s Colour Project. Their goal is to raise enough money to paint an entire hillside.

I want to live there.
